Thailand-
The Land of Smiles

Introduction Page:

The country i lost my heart and soul too! From the busy streets of Bangkok, to experiencing the Lantern festival in Chiang Mai and visiting the most stunning beaches in Krabi! Thailand has something to offer for everyone!

A backpacker’s paradise, a great country to retire in, the perfect honeymoon destination for all you lovers out there..
Thailand… a country that everyone has to visit at least once!

  • Capital: Bangkok
  • Population: 69.8 Million
  • Currency: Thai Baht
  • National Day: 5 December
  • Country size rank: 50th

Up North you will find colourful temples in Chiang Rai, rolling green hills and Chiang Mai city as it’s shining gem.
Or how about the central region which includes the capital Bangkok, the ruins of Ayutthaya and the waterfalls at Kanchanaburi!

And then we haven’t even touched the South yet, which has picture perfecct beaches and the best National park in Thailand(Khao Lak national park).

Not to forget the friendly Thai people who will welcome you with open arms, the mouth watering food that Thailand is famous for… and the same food that make you want to drink about 60 bottles of milk cause of how spicy it is haha.
Have I made you excited yet?

My Top 3 places in Thailand:

1: Chiang Mai

Doi Suthep

Chiang Mai or also known as: The rose of the North.
A city all the way up North, a city that has stood there for thousand of years.
You can still see remnants of that past, the central part of Chiang Mai is completely surrounded by old castle walls!

This is where most tourists visit first, inside these walls you’ll find dozens of lively walking streets with plenty of shops and food stalls.
But there is more, Chiang Mai is the perfect gateway to other attractions/cities nearby!

You can take a bus towards Chiang Rai to visit the famous(and truly unique) White Temple or travel to the laidback city of Pai and visit Pai canyon there.
Or perhaps most famous: travel from Chiang Mai to the temples of Doi Inthanon or Doi Suthep(as seen on the picture)

Tip: Take the night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai!
Going to bed at night, waking up the next day and then seeing the green fields of the Northern province is a sight to behold!

2: Phuket

Promthep Cape

Phuket, I have to say a kind of hit or miss destination!
There are plenty of stunning spots on the biggest island of Thailand but you have to know where to look!
For instance: the most famous place is the Patong region, while it certainly is interesting, it wouldn’t be a place I recommend staying in!

Patong walking street is fun to experience once that’s for sure, it is the most famous nightlife street in Phuket!
Plenty of bars, restaurants, pole dancers, girls swinging with boards and offering me a blowjob for a cheap price(never took them up on that offer don’t worry😅).
It is an interesting experience but it can be overwhelming!

That’s why I recommend you to stay at Kata beach!
There are 3 beach areas close to each other, starting with Patong then Karon(which has the longest beach but a boring one) and then there is Kata.⬇️

Kata beach

Kata has everything you need! A more relaxed atmosphere(no signs, no blowjobs being offered hahah), plenty of restaurants and a small but beatiful beach.

It is also very well located to visit the Nai Harn beach area, Rawai beach and plenty of safari’s are along the road!
Safari parks where you can rent ATV’s, do some ziplining, watch shows and take a tour riding elephants.

Other well known locations are the Big Buddha(45 metres/148ft) on top of a huge hill, the old town of Phuket which in terms of buildings looks very European! And at last the very stunning coastline of Promthep Cape.(best place to watch the sunset!)

3: Kanchanaburi

Erawan waterfalls (with the infamous fish!)

Kanchanburi, the perfect getaway when you are tired of the concrete jungle that Bangkok is!
Just a 3-4 hour drive by bus or about the same time by train.
Jump out of whatever you are arriving in and you’ll find yourself in a completely different world!
From a concrete jungle to a real one!!

A jungle that offers you amazing activities like rafting, ziplining and hiking.
Plus it offers you the best places to stay for a very decent price!(beatiful wooden homes in the jungle, right next to a fast flooding river to give you an example)

The FloatHouse Resort
Z9 Resort

And the most famous place of all: The Erawan waterfalls.
This one right here is a must visit when you are visiting the region!
Multiple pools of clear blue water that you can swim in, all connected by a hiking trail through the tropical scenery!

(SMALL WARNING: There are tiny fish in these waters, tiny fish that love to sink their fucking teeth in your toes/body haha!
While it doesn’t hurt it does feel really annoying😅)

But Kanchanaburi is also filled with many historical WW2 sights, not something you expect from a jungle like region like this!
As a start there is the famous bridge over the river Kwai(which has been featured in a movie thus making it even more famous now and a huge attraction)

Or how about the Hellfire Pass!
A railway being made mostly by prisoners of war, many of them died during construction!

My time in Thailand:

Back in July 2016 I made my first trip to Thailand and to Asia in general, it left a huge impression on me!

Seeing dozens of motorbikes waiting in front of a traffic stop, visiting a local food market and finding out that insects are something that can be eaten😅
Or how about the way of life in general, I just love the fact that everywhere in Thailand there is so much life on the streets, especially at night!

Local markets running their shops till late, 24/7 shops on every street corner… I LOVE IT!!
Or seeing the love of the people for their King, how 2 times a day the national anthem is playing and everyone just stops whatever they are doing and start paying respect!!

I loved every second in Thailand and once I was flying back home I knew I had to go back there one day!
That day happened sooner than i expected😅
I fell in love and no not just with the country haha..
I started talking to a girl and before I knew it I was flying back the same year around November!

Stayed for 3 months and went to Malaysia and Singapore after before going back home.
Was that my last time you ask? Nope 1 year later around October I went back for the last time.. so that has been 6 years ago by now!!
Thailand is calling me back every single day and I can’t wait for it to happen!
